Michaela will receive a professional development package that includes a 2010 exhibition at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, a year of mentoring by Craft Victoria and $500 cash. ![]() :acute (from grid-garment series) by Tobi Clark :acute = 3rd iteration of grid-garment series by Tobi Clark In 2008, Tobi Clark was the recipient of The Sofitel Melbourne Exhibition in a Public Space Award as part of Fresh! and :acute is the resulting exhibition. :acute is an experiment in the relationship between fashion and installation. Deliberately avoiding signs of the human body, :acute transforms garments into living sculptures via a self-contained, confused, domestically fantastical scenario. Reflections of this scenario are repeated and collapsed into the mirrored setting that surrounds it. The result is a complicated clash of visual perceptions that unhinges an audiences’ experience of clothing. Exhibition managed by Global Art Projects, Consulting Curator to Sofitel Melbourne On Collins. |
