Lucy Hearn

Lucy Hearn, installation view, 2008

25 March – 13 April 2008

“Three–dimensional line drawings made with little bowls full of holes.
Small vessels are dwelling places for the invisible.
White is the site for a colourful intervention and connection.
Fluorescent punctuation.”

My work is an exploration of colour, form and line. I use the traditional techniques of raising and enamelling alongside fluoro melted plastic. The little bowls full of holes series are made from enamelled copper, although all fittings (earring posts and backs, ring shanks and brooch fittings) are made from sterling silver. The fluoro love series of jewellery is all made from fused plastic, with the exception of earring and brooch fittings which are made from sterling silver.

Lucy is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Art, Second Year, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and in 2006 she completed a Bachelor of Art (Fine Art) Gold and Silversmithing, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Lucy was a finalist in the Filippo Raphael FRESH! Award 2006, Craft Victoria, and exhibited at Talente, 2007, Munich, Germany.
